Localization is the adaptation of a product or service to a particular language and culture to achieve a certain look and feel. Successfully localized services or products actually appear as if they were developed within the local culture. In addition to language translation, details such as time zones, national holidays, color sensitivities, product or service names, gender roles and religious values must all be considered. Language World’s Specialists work closely with clients to ensure success in this process and to help avoid embarrassing and oftentimes costly mistakes.
We understand cultural competence not as an added component to our work, but as the starting point for selecting our language specialists. The Language World Team understands that culture is the framework from which Limited and Non-English proficient speakers see the world around them, interpret events and behavior, and react to their perceived reality. Our role is to leverage this knowledge to create solutions that achieve compliance and align expectations with desired outcomes.
Language World offers culture consulting to organizations who wish to broaden their cultural reach through assessments, market research or other related service tools. Our consulting team works closely with clients to create custom solutions including: customized language assessments, surveys, focus group recruiting and cultural competence planning.
